![]() Please help? :D Much appreciated! Thank you! ![]() They seem similar but have a few important (maybe, you’re the smart one here) differences: different colors on the legs, no violin pattern (possibly a very small one, but the other pictures of recluse spiders show it starting at the front of the head and not in the middle like this one), and instead of fine hair like the descriptions say, this spider is SUPER FUZZY. I’ve researched a little and keep coming up with info about brown recluse. This one is about 3.5 inches in diameter. Sorry, again, that I couldn’t be more specific and that this took so long!įound this spider in northwestern Mexico. Here’s my list of guesses:Īnd it’s entirely likely your spider is none of those. I know how tough it is to photograph web-building spiders from other angles, but if I had a top view of this one, I might have been able to do better. I’m leaning more towards a juvenile cobweb weaver, but the closest I can get is possibly a Steatoda. I even looked at the genus Badumna, but their webs and legs are wrong. ![]() So I checked the Linyphiinae subfamily (mesh web weavers), but your spider lacks the spines typically found on the first three pairs of legs. This little spider has been driving me crazy since you sent her in! At first glance, I thought she was a Theridiid (cobweb weaver), but I can’t seem to find any really good matches. ![]() There was another spider at the edge of the web that will be in the next photo. This small spider was in a messy web between the leaves of a yucca. ![]()
